I joined The Royal Mint in March 2026 as a Cyber Security Engineer. The Royal Mint is responsible for producing the nation's coins and providing a range of precious metal services. Working in cyber security here means operating in a high-stakes environment where the integrity of systems genuinely matters.
In this role I am involved across a broad range of cyber security disciplines on a daily basis, from defensive investigation and threat hunting through to application security and project advisory. My work provides direct exposure to the tools, processes, and decision making that forms the foundation of a career in offensive security.
As the sole cyber security engineer contributing to certain internal projects, I am trusted to provide security guidance and make risk-based decisions independently at an early stage in my career.
Worked with young adults with learning difficulties, autism, and challenging behaviour. Developed core skills in risk assessment, incident documentation, calm decision making under pressure, and professional communication with multidisciplinary teams.
These skills โ methodical thinking, attention to detail, staying composed in high-pressure situations โ directly translate to cyber security investigation and response work.
Provided full-time private care for my twin brother following a life-changing motorbike accident. Managed sensitive personal information in compliance with data protection standards, conducted risk assessments, and liaised with healthcare professionals and support teams.
Over ten years of professional care experience provided a foundation of responsibility, discretion, and genuine commitment to the protection of people and information that underpins everything I do in cyber security.
